Real-World Experience
The Prologue work experience programme — LAUNCH — is central to the Early Career Accelerator and integrated into the curriculum from Week 5. We curate work experience in a way that is bespoke, consultative and collaborative: students, Prologue and our business partners work together to design placements tailored to the individual.
LAUNCH is where students apply what they are learning at Prologue. Each placement is deliberately sequenced to build confidence and capability. Early placements develop professional foundations — how to conduct yourself, how to observe, how to contribute. Later placements raise the stakes. Students take on real responsibility, receive genuine feedback from experienced professionals and are expected to perform as if they were part of the business.
Progress, experience and outcomes are captured in the Prologue Portfolio — a detailed, evidence-based record of each student's workplace experience that they carry with them into their career.

How LAUNCH Develops over the Year
LAUNCH is not a single placement. It is a progressive, year-long programme that evolves in depth and responsibility as the student develops.
In the early weeks, students enter a partner business for the first time. The focus is on observation and orientation - understanding how a real organisation operates, how people communicate, how decisions get made, and what professional life actually looks and feels like. These early experiences are intentionally structured to build confidence rather than test it.
As the year progresses, so does the nature of the work. Placements become more specific and more demanding. Students are no longer observing - they are contributing. They take on defined responsibilities, work alongside experienced professionals, and begin to develop a genuine understanding of the sectors and functions that interest them most. Career direction starts to sharpen, and placements are adjusted accordingly.
By the final term, students are operating at a level of genuine professional expectation. They take on a real commission from a partner business - a live brief with a real output, delivered to a professional standard and handed back to the client. This is not a simulation. It is real work, with real stakes, producing real results.

Built on Real Business Partnerships
LAUNCH is built on a network of committed business partners who do more than open their doors to Prologue students. They contribute to the discovery process, shape placement decisions, provide structured feedback and are invested in the development of each student they work with.
For our partners, LAUNCH is also an opportunity - to identify and assess exceptional young talent in a real working environment, long before a formal recruitment process begins.
