A structured, supported bridge between education and the workplace

Prologue provides young adults with a genuine alternative to university - a structured, one-year programme that combines face-to-face business education, curated work experience and professional mentoring to build the foundations for early-career success.

Our Early Career Accelerator is designed specifically for young adults at a crossroads - whether they are leaving school, leaving university, or returning from a gap year.

The programme is built around four pillars that develop the commercial acumen, professional skills, digital fluency and confidence that employers value in early-career hires.

EDGE develops the self-knowledge, communication skills and professional behaviours that are the foundation of a successful career. We focus on the qualities that employers value most and that AI cannot replicate: communication, collaboration, problem‑solving, organising and planning, creative thinking and information literacy.

EDGE underpins everything we do at Prologue.

CORE builds a practical understanding of how businesses work - how they are structured, why each function exists and how they operate. Students discover how companies make money, how they win and keep customers and the strategic decisions that drive growth.

CORE is taught through real business cases, live scenarios and projects developed in conjunction with our business partners.

AMPLIFY builds confidence and proficiency in the technology students will use every day at work - from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to the AI tools that are now part of everyday professional life.

Taught entirely in the context of real work, students graduate from Prologue with genuine AI fluency, integrating platforms like Claude and Perplexity into their daily workflow from day one.

LAUNCH is where students apply what they are learning at Prologue in real business contexts. Integrated into our curriculum, LAUNCH is bespoke, consultative and collaborative - students, Prologue and our business partners work together to design an individualised work experience programme.

This programme is sequenced deliberately to build confidence and capability across the year.

How the Prologue Year Works

Prologue is run like a business, not a university.

Students follow an integrated curriculum delivered by industry professionals, combining small-group, boardroom-style learning with real workplace experience.

The year is structured around three terms, each with its distinct focus and specific deliverables.

Term One:
The Foundation

Term 1 is about understanding. Students develop a clear picture of who they are and what they offer professionally. They build a foundational understanding of what a business is, how businesses work and how they are structured. Students are introduced to the technology they will use throughout Prologue - and beyond - and will start to build proficiency in core technology tools.

From Week 5, students begin to understand what professional life actually looks and feels like, spending one day a week inside a real partner business. The term culminates in the Business Insights Project - a formal commercial analysis of that business, presented to its senior leadership team.

Term Two:
The Platform

Term 2 is about application. Students develop a deeper understanding of industries, customers and competitive advantage - learning not just how businesses work, but how they make money and grow. Their technology skills deepen, with a focus on using digital tools analytically to research, interpret data and build compelling presentations. Communication, leadership, teamwork and resilience move to the foreground as students are stretched, tested under pressure, and asked to perform collectively as well as individually.

From this term we focus on each student's emerging career direction. Their work experience becomes more specific and tailored to their emerging career aspirations. The term culminates in the Career Intelligence Project - a formal presentation on the student's chosen career area, demonstrating genuine knowledge of the sector, its employers, and what it takes to succeed in it.

Term Three:
The Proof

Term 3 is about readiness. Students now have a much clearer picture of who they are, where they are heading and what they are capable of. Focus on career preparation moves into full gear. Students build and refine their professional profile - CV, LinkedIn, interview technique - supported by the Prologue Futures team and their personal mentor. Everything learned across the year is now focused on a single goal: a confident, credible transition into work.

The term culminates in the Live Business Project - a real commission from a business partner operating in their chosen career field, delivered to a professional standard. The year closes with the Career Proposition Presentation - their Prologue Portfolio brought to life. Students present to a panel of tutors, parents and industry professionals: who they are, what they have done, and where they are going.

A Typical Week at Prologue

The programme mirrors the rhythm of a professional working environment.

Students follow a structured weekly schedule that combines workshops, project work, mentoring and real commercial experience.

Each day starts with a morning meeting, led by a student, where priorities and objectives are discussed alongside current affairs and relevant business news. Days are then split into two, with each half day spent on a specific pillar of learning.

  • Workshops and seminars
    Business fundamentals and commercial thinking

  • Technology and digital tools
    Developing practical technical capability

  • Project work
Working on commercial challenges and team projects

  • Workplace exposure
Externships and collaboration with partner organisations

  • Mentoring and reflection
    Progress reviews and portfolio development

How We Learn

Learning at Prologue is structured, collaborative and experiential - students work and learn together in professional boardroom environments.

Through real-world case studies, projects and seminars with business leaders, students build a practical understanding of how organisations operate and what it takes to contribute effectively in a modern workplace. Learning is active and progressive - each strand of the programme builds on the last and is reinforced through real workplace experience.

This structure bridges the gap between education and employment by developing the professional habits and routines and building the commercial skills and behaviours that employers actually value.

The Prologue Difference

University provides an academic foundation, but the modern workplace demands professional capability. Prologue is built entirely around three distinct structural differences to the traditional university route:

 Evidence

Prologue students do not leave with an academic certificate – they leave with a professional portfolio that proves what they can do.

Over the course of the year, every student delivers three distinct projects to live business audiences: a formal commercial analysis, a research-led industry presentation and a real-world  business brief. This is the tangible proof employers actively look for – and it is exactly what a Prologue student delivers.

Accountability

At Prologue, anonymity does not exist. With a strict cohort limit of just ten students, every individual is known, supported and challenged daily by their personal tutor, their industry mentor and the Prologue team.

In a system where a university student can skip lectures for weeks without anyone noticing, this level of individual attention and absolute accountability provides the structure young adults need to thrive.

Advantage

One year at Prologue delivers a two-year head start. While their university peers are still sitting in lecture theatres, Prologue graduates are already established in the workforce – earning, building momentum and advancing their careers.

By significantly reducing both the time and financial commitment of a traditional degree, Prologue provides an accelerated, direct route into the professional world.

Prologue offers a clear and distinctive alternative to university - built on an environment and a culture where every student is known, respected and treated as an individual.

Student Outcomes

Prologue graduates transition from school leavers into workplace-ready professionals, equipped with a distinct competitive advantage.

Self- Knowledge

A clearer understanding of personal strengths, interests and potential career paths.

Commercial Capability

Real insight into how organisations operate and the commercial skills to contribute from day one.

Professional Confidence

Confident communication, teamwork and professional habits developed through practical experience.
